luis fernandezKyoshi Luis Fernandez began his karate training in 1967 under Sensei Artie Aviles in the Gojuryu style. Sensei Aviles was a first generation student of Hanshi Frank Ruiz, has been incorporating Chinese martial arts into his studies for over 40 years. Sifu Aviles currently teaches at the Northern Shaolin Long Fist Kung Fu Club in the Sarasota/Venice area (941)484-3330.

 Hanshi Bonet currently teaches in the Glendale Arizona area (623)251-4577 and is the President of Shorinkai International and the World Traditional Karate-Do Union.

In 2001, Kyoshi Luis Fernandez received his Master Instructors License in Okinawa from O’Sensei Eizo Shimabuku(ro). O’sensei appointed Fernandez during the 90’s as The U.S. director for O.S.K.I.A. Kyoshi Fernandez is now a senior executive board member of both Shorinkai International and the world Traditional Karate-Do Union.

 Kyoshi Fernandez was promoted to 8th Dan in 1998 and continues to teach and study martial arts systems including but not limited to Brazilian JiuJitsu and Kickboxing. Fernandez has been a law enforcement officer since 1982 and is available for seminars and special training on several subjects including, survival, police tactics, rape prevention, weapons, defensive tactics, karate kata interpretation etc. 

Kyoshi Fernandez has been  published in Miami Medicine Magazine. His article on the positive impact of martial arts on children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) resulted in specially designed childrens karate programs. Fernandez has also been featured in magazines, television and films including Great Karate Inspirations.
